Life is expensive. After student loans, mortgages, and car loans, who has the spare change to save for the future? I started this blog to share easy ways to save money.
Like most millennials, my husband and I struggled financially when we first started out. We both graduated with significant student loan and credit card debt. While the credit card debt is long gone, we are still working to pay off our student loans, a car loan (update! our car loan is paid off!), and a mortgage.
A couple of years ago, we both started reading several personal finance blogs and listening to financial podcasts. As a result, we’ve made a few changes in our personal lives to help us get out of debt faster. We are NOT perfect. We have made decisions that set us back, but, in spite of our mistakes, we are on our way to financial freedom.
Why write a blog?
I am not a financial expert, but I have learned a few things over the last couple of years. This blog is a place I can share some of the ways I’ve learned to save money and my thoughts on personal finances.
Everything I write about in this blog are things that I’ve tried. All of the opinions expressed here are my own.
Just a little bit about me
I’m not a writer by trade. In fact, I have an engineering background so writing is probably a weak spot for me. I do love to read and am a huge consumer of personal finance blogs and podcasts.
I’m married to a wonderful nerd. We’re high school sweethearts who have been together for almost two decades. He also has an engineering background, but I’m not kidding when I say he really is WAY nerdier than me.
I am a recent transplant to Texas from the east coast. I don’t miss the snow.
